南蓮園池香海軒 敦煌莫高窟壁畫暨彩塑摹本展 志蓮淨苑、南蓮園池 合辦
敦煌石窟是一個偉大的文化奇跡，歷十個朝代一千多年的創造，是內容最豐富的佛教石窟。敦煌石窟亦堪稱世界文明史上罕見的藝術和文化寶庫，成為當今人們理解中國佛教美術史的生動教科書，探討美術發展史的寶貴實證。
志蓮淨苑的唐式寺院正是由敦煌壁畫的化育而生成。淨苑以真誠的虔敬之心，歷時三年製作出了一組再現敦煌唐代佛尊彩塑藝術的木雕彩繪摹本，即將向大眾展出。同時展出的還有原中央工藝美術學院院長，被譽為“敦煌保護神”的常書鴻先生的女兒常沙娜老師的一批敦煌壁畫摹本。我們希冀敦煌石窟佛教藝術的不朽精神常留人間，更希望大家觀看展覽之後，能夠對舉世矚目的敦煌石窟藝術多一些瞭解，多一份熱愛。

Exhibition of Painted Replicas of Murals and Painted Stucco Sculptures of the Dunhuang Mogao Caves Xiang Hai Xuan Multi-purpose Hall, Nan Lian Garden Jointly organized by the Chi Lin Nunnery and the Nan Lian Garden
The Dunhuang Caves are a cultural miracle of immense proportion. They are the largest cluster of Buddhist caves ever constructed. The richness of their contents is unrivalled. They contain a large quantity of precious artifacts created over a period spanning a thousand years and covering ten dynasties. It is a treasure trove of art and history of civilization and a vivid textbook that enables us to appreciate and understand Chinese Buddhist art and its history.
The Tang style monastic complex of the Chi Lin Nunnery was inspired by and modeled on Dunhuang murals. With sincere reverence, the Chi Lin Nunnery has spent three years producing a set of painted wooden statues – a replication of the Dunhuang Mogao Caves Buddhist painted stucco sculptures of the Tang Dynasty. These statues will be exhibited shortly. Also on display at the exhibition is a collection of painted copies of Dunhuang murals made by Ms. CHANG Shana, former Director of the Central Academy of Art and Design and daughter of Mr. CHANG Shuhong - honored as the “Guardian of the Dunhuang Caves”. We sincerely hope that the immortal spirit of Dunhuang Buddhist art will continue to thrive and that after viewing this exhibition, you will have a deeper understanding and appreciation of Dunhuang art.
